Challenge
Create a product designed to be customized, mix-and-matched, with hundreds of variants, while paying close mind to manufacturing for sustianable materials, with minimal parts and waste, designed to stand the test of time stylistically.
Goal
We wanted to create an iconic form that could evolve in a variety of environments (dressed up and dressed down) offering interior designers authorship and adding their touch. The chair utilizes a uniform under-carriage that fastens and assembles with no glues, paying close attention to manufacturing sustainably at scale.
Solution
Mixu epitomizes both subtlety and boundless potential, offering a sustainable and adaptable product range. Its modular design allows for almost endless material and color customization, catering to various contexts, environments, and preferences. Comprising seat, backrest, and base elements (shipped disassembled to save space), this versatile system offers endless possibilities for personalization through a plethora of color and texture combinations. Additionally, the minimalist take on the unique assembly, and purity of materials used, supports a committment to responsible lifecycle design.
